Bicyclists Make Me CRAZY!
I read a letter to the editor in the Des Moines Register that seemed to make sense to me.
Bicyclists want to share the roads with the rest of us. But they aren’t licensed. They aren’t tested. They don’t pay fees and taxes for licenses and registration.
Should they? I’d consider it. If they want to share the roads, maybe they should start sharing in the responsibilities, too.
I hate how the majority of cyclists I have run into over the last 3 decades run red lights and stop signs like the rules don’t apply to them. They hold up traffic by going 15 miles per hour in the middle of the road. I LOVE the ones who like cycling up treacherous and windy roads, again going a fraction of the speed limit, and AGAIN, right in the middle of the road.
While I am on my rant against cyclists, the ones who REALLY bug me are the ones who wear the tight and neon cyclist pants like they are Lance Armstrong. You know, the ones with the fancy mirrors who never use them?
The more I think about it, the more I think we need to get stricter with cyclists. They want to share the roads with US…but imagine if we told them CARS and TRUCKS would share the bike paths with THEM!! It would never happen.
Bicyclists make me CRAZY.
