James Corden to Host 70th Annual Tony Awards

A new Tony host has been announced and perhaps we’ll get a carpool karaoke video about it soon.

FOX’s Michelle Pollino reports:

James Corden host of the ‘Late Late Show’ on CBS, which boasts one of the best segments on late night, ‘Carpool Karaoke’ will host the 70th Annual Tony Awards, which air live on CBS from New York’s Beacon Theatre June 12.

This will be Corden’s first time hosting the Tony’s. He won one for ‘Best Actor’ in 2012 for his performance in ‘One Man, Two Guvnors.’

Hugh Jackman and Neil Patrick Harris were previously hosts of Broadway’s biggest night, however Corden will face the challenge of reversing the Tony’s sliding ratings, which last year dropped 10% in the face of competition from the NBA Finals.
