FOX News Radio’s Lauren Faulkner spends A Few Moments with an amazing individual, war veteran and quadruple amputee, Travis Mills. On April 10, 2012, United States Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills of the 82nd Airborne went to work. In TOUGH AS THEY COME, Travis shares his story of surviving “a simple act of war” that led to the 6’3″, 250lb man to become one of only five surviving quadruple amputees from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. At age 24, an IED detonated beneath Travis, changing his life in an instant. Travis is the author of the recently released memoir, Tough as They Come (Penguin Random House, October 27, 2015). After a rigorous rehabilitation process (he learned to walk again alongside his young daughter, Chloe) Travis has made an incredible recovery.
