Baltimore Mayor Requests DOJ Probe Of Police Department

The Mayor of Baltimore is requesting a broader Justice Department investigation into the city’s police department.

FOX News Radio’s Rachel Sutherland reports:

Baltimore Mayor Staphanie Rawlings-Blake says the city needs the assistance of the Justice Department to help heal the fractured relationship between local officers and the communities they serve… and she’s asked the department to investigate:

(Rawlings-Blake) ”If our police department has engaged in a pattern or practice of stops, searches or arrests that violate the fourth amendment.”

The Mayor says her commitment to reforming the department includes outfitting officers with body cameras by the end of the year.
