Housecall for Health: Living Organ Donors

Housecall for Health

Thirteen people die each day while waiting for an organ donation.  But many people may not know that there’s a way to save a life while still living, by becoming what’s called a ‘living organ donor’.

FOX’s Colleen Cappon has all you need to know in today’s “Housecall for Health”:

More than 116,000 Americans are on the waiting list for an organ transplant.  April is National Donate Life Month, when the National Kidney Foundation helps raise awareness about the process of donating an organ.

Much-needed organs don’t just come from the deceased – kidney, liver and lung donation can come from a living donor, and will last longer.  Most donors are back to regular activities after just a couple weeks.
