Walmart Announces Ammo Restrictions

Gun Control

With a national debate taking place and a proposal for renewing the assault weapons ban being introduced in the Senate, one of the nation’s largest retailers is getting on board with gun control…sort of.

FOX News Radio’s Kerin McCue reports:

Audio clip:

Since the Newtown, Connecticut massacre in December, gun and ammunition sales have gone up, way up!  In fact, they’ve gone up so much that the supply’s being stretched.  So Walmart, the nation’s largest dealer in firearms, is limiting sales of ammo to three boxes per customer, per day.

The company says this strikes the right balance between serving hunters and sportsmen, while also ensuring they sell firearms responsibly.

Anything to get less people to shop at Walmart is a good thing.

Wal-mart is not the only place to buy . I will just need to make one more stop. Will look for my sport stuff elsewhere, not Dick's or cheaper than Dirt. Already dumped Bank of America.

They are restricting the sale to keep 1 person from buying all that is in the store. Their hope is to allow more people to be able to make a piurchase and not sell everything to one that wants to sell it on the street for a gouging price.

Wall Mart is being reasonable here in spite of the opportunity to profit from the increased demand unlike every other retailer gouging us out there. They should be commended. Everyone would buy all the stock at once if it were not restricted to 3 boxes. Hoarders make it impossible for someone who doesn't or can afford to buy that much ammo at once or would like to go out shooting for the day with his pals or family.
