OH Cops Charged for Not Arresting Drunk Driver

Three Ohio police officers are facing charges in connection with a the death of a drunk man who was killed in a traffic accident.

FOX News Radio’s Don Mathisen has details:

An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper and two Delaware County deputies are cited for a misdemeanor count of failing to arrest an offender.  The officers found a 22-year-old man drunk in his truck last July.  The vehicle was on the median of an interstate highway.

They didn’t think they could arrest him because he wasn’t driving when they found him, so they took him to a restaurant, expecting he would call for a ride.  But he walked away, and was killed when he was hit by a car.

Authorities say the officers could have arrested the man, thus preventing his death.
