Children’s Snoring: Sign of Behavioral Problems?
A lot of kids snore every now and then, but when it goes on for months it is not normal, and new research suggests it may be a sign of trouble.
FOX News Radio’s Bill Vitka reports:
Audio clip:
When children snore persistently in early childhood it may be a sign of behavioral problems. Researchers find that kids who snore loudly at least twice a week, at the ages of two and three, are more likely to engage in aggressive activity or hyperactivity.
The study in the journal ‘Pediatrics’ says behavior problems are more than three times more likely to surface. That kind of snoring can be a sign of real breathing problems at night.
It’s not normal. The best advice: seek medical care. The problem is treatable.
