FOX in the Fast Lane: Another First-Time Winner [VIDEO]

For one NASCAR driver, it’s better late than never.  Sunday’s race at Watkins Glen was delayed by a day because of rain, but it’s a special victory for Monday’s winner.

FOX News Radio’s Chris Hoenig recaps the race in this edition of “FOX in the Fast Lane”…

The year of first-time winners continues…

“((Yellow’s out)) Race is over, Marcos Ambrose is your winner.”

…ESPN with the final call of the rain-delayed Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at the Glen.  Ambrose becomes the fifth driver to win his first-career Sprint Cup race this season, zipping by Brad Keselowski and Kyle Busch on a green-white-checkered finish…but the race still managed to come to an end under a yellow flag…

“Oh, big crash in Turn 2, David Reutimann.”

…Reutimann and David Ragan with a violent collision on the final lap that sent Reutimann flipping across the track on his roof.  Both drivers managed to pull themselves out of their cars and limp away.

The race for the Chase is heating with just 4 weekends to go.  Busch’s third-place finish is enough to draw him into a tie with Carl Edwards atop the standings.  Ambrose still sits on the outside looking in in the wild-card race, which Keselowski and Denny Hamlin lead heading into Michigan this weekend.
