FOX News Poll: Country is Still Divided, But Optimistic

President Obama leaves office on a high note, while a new FOX News Poll also shows the President-elect has his work cut out for him.

FOX’s Lisa Brady has the story:

More than half of voters surveyed have an unfavorable opinion of the President-elect and disapprove of the way he’s handled the transition.

And asked about the mood of the country, 60 percent say it’s everyone for themselves, only about a third say we’re all in this together.

Still, the new FOX Poll finds two thirds are optimistic about the economy and that crosses party lines. Nearly half say it’s extremely important for the new President to focus on the economy and jobs in his first year. Terrorism and health care following closely behind on that list.

55 percent say the country is better off since President Obama was elected and he leaves with a nearly 60 percent approval rating, but the average for his presidency is split right down the middle.
