President-elect Trump Says Air Force One Price Tag is ‘Out of Control’
The delivery date of the new Air Force One plane may be in doubt.
FOX’s Jon Decker has more from the White House:
President-elect Donald Trump is urging the government to cancel Boeing’s new 747 Air Force One plane, saying it’s too expensive. A figure he puts at more than $4 billion:
(President-elect Trump) “I think it’s ridiculous. I think Boeing is doing a little bit of a number. We want Boeing to make a lot money. But not that much money.”
The Air Force has previously said that it had earmarked $1.65 billion for two replacement jets. The first new Air Force One isn’t expected to be operational until at least 2019.
At the White House, Jon Decker, FOX News.
Boeing is building a brand new 747 Air Force One for future presidents, but costs are out of control, more than $4 billion. Cancel order!
