Clete Blakeman Named Referee for Super Bowl 50

We know who will be reffing the big game next weekend.

FOX’s Chris Hoenig tells us:

The NFL has named Clete Blakeman the referee for Super Bowl 50.

It’ll be his sixth playoff game, his fifth was memorable for all the wrong reasons:

(Blakeman) “It didn’t flip, it didn’t flip. Tails is the call, it his heads, which way do you want to kick?”

The Packers-Cardinals divisional round game this year on NBC, with that coin toss that had to be redone before overtime.

In all, the officiating crew has 97 years of NFL experience, 62 combined playoff assignments and five Super Bowls. Blakeman has been an NFL ref since 2010, this will be his first Super Bowl.
