Republican Lawmaker Seeks To Oust Speaker Boehner

A Republican lawmaker wants to take House Speaker John Boehner’s gavel away.

FOX News Radio’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:

Speaker Boehner just won a challenge to his leadership post earlier this year… and now, North Carolina Republican Congressman Mark Meadows has filed a “motion to vacate the chair”.

If successful, the resolution would force a new election for House Speaker.

Congressman Meadows argues that Boehner has endeavored to consolidate and centralize power.

Such a challenge is almost without precedent in the House of Representatives. More than 100 years ago, a similar effort was attempted and failed.
