Rolling Stone magazine is retracting its story about a gang rape on a college campus.

FOX News Radio’s Eben Brown reports:

Rolling Stone now says it should never have printed a story last November about an alleged sex assault at a University of Virginia frat house, because it is now obviously unprovable. While it damages the magazine’s credibility, students on campus think it damages efforts to ensure victims of actual assaults come forward.

(Student) ”People will automatically cite this particular accident as like, ‘oh no she must be lying’.”

The magazine retracted its story following this weekend’s report by Columbia University’s journalism school, in which the magazine is accused of failing at routine journalism.
