WSJ’s Jason Riley: The left sees President Obama as a symbol first, a person second.

Jason Riley

Jason Riley, member of The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board and Fox News contributor, joined Brian to discuss the latest news on the nationwide protests over the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner. Riley told Brian that it’s a false narrative to say there is an epidemic of blacks are being killed by cops, adding, it is people like New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio, who are trying to legitimize that false narrative.

Riley said the real epidemic in the black community is blacks killing blacks. Riley believes the breakdown of the family unit has devastated the black community, pointing out that in some inner cities, 80-90% of black children grow up with only one parent.

Finally, Brian and Jason discussed the leaked Sony e-mails that were racially insensitive towards President Obama. Riley explained that the left views President Obama as a symbol first and as a person second. They support President Obama because of what he represents in terms of racial progress.
