Redesigned $100 Bill Released
Franklin is getting a facelift. Ben Franklin’s image on the $100 bill, that is. The design and security features for a new-and-improved bill have been released, and they’ll be in circulation by the end of the year.
FOX News Radio’s Lilian Woo has details:
The Fed says it will begin circulating a redesigned $100 bill this fall – the highest value bill still being printed in the U.S., also the most widely counterfeited denomination outside the country.
Security features will include a blue 3D security ribbon, alternating images of bells and the number 100 that move and change with the viewing angle, and a disappearing Liberty Bell in an inkwell.
The roll-out delayed by more than two years because of a production glitch that left creases in many notes.
