Housecall for Health: C-Section Babies At Risk of Obesity

A study out of China is linking the way a baby is born with their risk of becoming overweight, though the exact cause behind the relationship still isn’t clear.

FOX’s Colleen Cappon reports in today’s “Housecall for Health”:

A new study suggests babies born via c-section are more likely to become overweight.  Researchers at Peking University in China collected results from nine studies of more than 200,000 people and found those born by c-section had a 33% higher risk of obesity.

Study authors say although the impact is modest, the potential health effects of c-sections shouldn’t be ignored.  Further studies are needed to determine the reason for the link.
