Atlantic Hurricane Season Officially Ends

It’s the end of the official Atlantic Hurricane Season, and meteorologists considered this to be a year with an above-average number of storms.

There were 19 named storms this year and four actually hit the U.S.. National Hurricane Center Director Richard Knabb says that’s three too many:

(Knabb) “It does only take one. I don’t think people in New Jersey, New York and surrounding areas will think of any other system this year except Sandy.”

Other storms struck parts of north Florida. Hurricane Isaac flooded out New Orleans and its Mississippi suburbs just after threatening the Republican National Convention in Tampa.
