It’s a date film buffs must remember on their calendars.
(Music from “Casablanca”)
December 14th is when the piano from the classic “Casablanca” is going up for auction at Sotheby’s in New York. It was used to play “As Time Goes By” in the famous Paris flashback scene where Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman’s characters drink champagne leaning up against it.
The piano offered for sale by a Japanese collector, who paid $154,000 for it at auction back in ’88. Experts estimate it will bring in $1.2 million next month.
