OK Vet Fights Off Robber in His Home

A retired Marine in Oklahoma had a Veterans Day weekend to remember, fighting off a home invasion and sending the would-be robber to the hospital.

FOX News Radio’s Dave Anthony reports:

It happened late Saturday night in Muskogee, Oklahoma, near Tulsa.

(Macarty) “Well, I was sitting there, watching TV, and somebody knocked real loud on the door.”

So Lloyd Macarty got his gun.

(Macarty) “And I thought, ‘Well, if you come in, you’re gonna have a bullet hole.'”

And then, the guy trying to break in to the retired Marine’s home tried to knock the door down.

(Macarty) “That’s when I shot through the door, and he went to hollerin’ in the street.  And I could hear him going clear down the street.”

Police then found the wounded man, who had to be hospitalized, and he is facing first-degree burglary charges.  But Macarty was not charged.

(Macarty) “I just felt like I was protecting my wife and I.”
