Chicago Teachers Rally This Labor Day [VIDEO]
For many kids around the nation, tomorrow is back to school. But teachers in Chicago, are still in the midst of a contract dispute.
FOX News Radio’s Jennifer Keiper reports from the rally in Chicago:
Audio clip:
A few thousand Chicago public school teachers are here in Daley Plaza, wearing matching red t-shirts to show their solidarity. Then a large group of municipal workers showing their support came marching in wearing green shirts.
(Supporters) “We support CTU!”
The school district has offered teachers a 4-year contract with raises of 2% a year. The teacher’s union says it’s unacceptable and is also concerned about job security and a new evaluation system.
Both sides say they’ll keep talking even if there is a strike.
