A badminton scandal hits the 2012 London Olympics. Eight players have been accused of trying to lose.

FOX News Radio’s Emily Wither reports from the 2012 London Olympics:

Eight players have been thrown out of the Olympic badminton women’s pairs competition – accused of trying to lose their final group matches yesterday in order to get a favorable draw in the knock-out stage.

(Coe) “I mean, who wants to sit through something like that? The sadness of it is, I was actually at badminton yesterday and I saw some games that were incredibly competitive in front of really large, you know, enthusiastic audiences.”

Olympic Organizing Committee Chairman Sebastian Coe.

Two of the teams are from South Korea and one each from China and Indonesia.
