Housecall for Health: Pregnancy Age and Cancer Risk
Waiting to have kids until later in life could have health benefits, according to a new study.
FOX’s Colleen Cappon has more in today’s Housecall for Health:
Audio clip:
Having children later in life may reduce a woman’s risk of cancer. A new study from the University of Southern California finds women who give birth after age 40 are 44% less likely to develop endometrial cancer than those who have children in their 20′s. Women who become mothers in their 30′s also had a lower risk. Scientists say hormone levels play a huge role in the findings, but will conduct further studies to pinpoint the exact reason.
