Securing America: Times Square Bomb Cohorts Go Free

Four Pakistani men charged for allegedly helping failed Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad have been acquitted in their home country.

FOX News Radio’s Jill Nado has more from Washington in our ongoing series on national security:

Faisal Shahzad was given a life sentence here in the U.S., but his reported co-conspirators are free to go.  The men were picked up in Pakistan soon after that incident in New York, but very few details of what happened to them since then have come out.

The men were reportedly tried in a Pakistani anti-terrorism court, but insiders say terrorism cases in Pakistan rarely produce convictions.

Shahzad was arrested back in 2010 after two street vendors in Times Square saw a smoking bomb in a car and went to police.  That bomb ignited, but didn’t explode.
