Men Steal CA Church Van, Deliver Themselves to Jail
From the “What Were They Thinking?” files. Two men allegedly carjack a church van, then help police get them behind bars in record time.
FOX News Radio’s Chris Hoenig has the story:
Audio clip:
Cortez Craig and Cornell Moses stopped by a California church that gives rides to people down on their luck, asking for a ride to the San Joaquin County Jail to visit an inmate. But driver Dave Kendall had other stops to make first, and the men:
(Kendall) “Punched me in the head a few times, kicked me a few times and grabbed the keys and ran.”
So Kendall told Stockton Police Detective Joe Silva exactly where the pair had wanted to go…and sure enough, Craig and Moses were arrested – already in the jail!
(Silva) “These criminals, they weren’t real smart.”
Both men, charged with felony carjacking and assault.
