7-Year-Old Thwarts GA Walmart Abduction [VIDEO]

Police in Georgia are calling a 7-year-old girl a hero, after she managed to fight off a kidnapper who grabbed her at a Walmart in the state.

FOX News Radio’s Chris Hoenig has the story:

Audio clip:

25-year-old Thomas Woods is charged with attempted kidnapping after surveillance tape caught a man grabbing 7-year-old Brittney Baxter in the toy aisle of the store in Bremen.

(Baxter) “I was screaming, kicking him and he just dropped me and ran off.”

Woods is on parole from a manslaughter conviction, and denies he’s the man on the tape.

(Woods) “I didn’t touch anybody, didn’t bother nobody.  I was never there.”

Police are crediting Baxter and her parents for reinforcing self-defense lessons taught at the girl’s school.

(Baxter) “When somebody’s trying to get you, you try to get away.  And then go tell somebody that you trust.”

First of all and most important is that the mother never, ever should have left her child unattended. "Period"! There are child predators just looking for that opportunity, a child left unattended. Stupid mother, why would any parent even gamble with their childs life in such a careless manner.

I would like to know why NOBODY is asking the mom about her poor choice to leave this young girl unattended in the first place.
Yes, the girl is a hero, yes the brother taught her self-defense tricks and yes the cops caught the guy. Everyone is focused on how this girl did the right thing but let's talk about how her mom did the WRONG THING! Hello!@

Really? I forgot that children aren't naive and never wonder away from their parents. Obviously her parents are well aware that anything could happen to their child in just seconds, hence self defense lessons. I commend the parents and the amazingly brave little girl. You guys are idiots.

Sometimes kids run off when you thought they were next to you the whole time! My girls used to like to hide in the clothes racks until i let them know why it wasnt a good idea for me to NOT KNOW where they were while in the store for this particular danger of someone getting them & taking them away, when i could just think they were hiding!

There are still places in this country where people still trust their neighbors, and one less now. The mother will never forget. Put the psycho in jail; life, no parol.

I don't blame the mother. I am from the old school and be believe things just won't go wrong. It is really hard to keep your eyes on your children all the time. And when can we give up on worrying about our children look at the teens and the young adults that get abducted. Where were their mother then. We don't want to freek out our children to the point they are scared of everything. Best to keep teaching the children and pray it never happens to us. I am so happy it came out with a happy ending. Hope the Father Daughter dance went well. God Bless You All
