War Remains Mishandled

The Military says steps are being taken after an investigation showed the remains of some U.S. servicemembers killed in Afghanistan were mishandled.

FOX News Radio’s Mike Majchrowitz reports from Washington DC:

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta says he’s deeply disturbed by reports of improper handling of the remains of the some of the nation’s war dead.  The Air Force acknowledges that the mortuary that receives those remains lost portions of some remains.  The cases involved remains from Afghanistan where small pieces went missing at Dover Air Base.  Three senior officials were disciplined for “gross mismanagement.”  Panetta says steps have already been taken to strengthen oversight at the mortuary.
