Housecall for Health: Sleepy Surgeon Help

A new drug could help sleep-deprived surgeons from falling asleep at the operating table.

FOX’s Colleen Cappon has the details in today’s “Housecall for Health”:

Researchers believe they have found a way for surgeons to perform better, through the use of smart drugs.  A study from the University of Cambridge claims that giving sleep-deprived surgeons the brain stimulant modafinil, sharpens their brains and helps them perform better under pressure by thinking faster.  Scientists were so impressed by the data, they think the medical profession could even be weaned off its current drug of choice, caffeine.
