Border Clashes: Israel-Syria Violence

Sunday marked the start of the Six Day War, when Israeli forces defeated Egypt, Jordan and Syria…and was a day marked by violence along the Israel-Syria border.

Israeli security forces opened fire across the Syrian frontier to disperse hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters who stormed the border, killing dozens.
