I'm very proud of the Governor Walker but it needs to be taken even further. I firmly believe once needed unions have out lived their usefulness and are simply legalized extortion, however, at least in a free market there are options. In the real world (commercial sector) if a group of employees chooses to unionize then the Market (consumers) are given the ultimate choice – buy union products (inevitably higher priced) or buy non-union products. This is why unions are on the decline. However there is no such option for consumers (tax payers) when civil servants are allowed to unionize. If they can organized then accepting government services and paying taxes should be optional. No government employee groups of any kind should be allowed to unionize!

    Go get'em Scott!

Ok I'll be first, all of the democrats that are not showing up for work should be placed under arrest and removed from office, if one person get's hurt in these protest with any kind of violence their should be charges against them for inciting this protest.
The union issue I understand that this has become some what of an issue of union or no union, or weather unions have too much power, I thought they were only trying to limit the collective bargaining power they had. Although I can understand their fears that it could lead to a dismissal of the unions all together, (You know Republicans have been known to work in that manner) it is not what is happening, I would ask all the protesters to look at what a blessing they have in being able to be represented by a union at all ,in a public job paid for with tax money.
Our troops don't have this benefit along with a lot of privet and Federal jobs . Maybe if the plubic employes were ranked on a yearly bases and then paid per what ever rank for the past years performance we would see some real change in all of these employees as their pay check for next year would depend on the rank of the work they are doing this year. Kind of how our Military is set up but with a yearly check and balance and a pay raise at maybe 10 different levels and if you fell below the lowest level you were Fired with out any benefits but with a second chance if you can find a position.
There may be better ways but how come we are not hereing any of them it's just my way or the highway on both sides frankly. I understand they have a budget to get done and that must be done but may give it a limit or until other agreements can be made giving every one a chance to work together.
As for the protesters Please Stop, you are all making us all look like a bunch of whiners .This is not Egypt ,you guys did Vote you know ,Please Respect the process of that and keep America free!

    PS God Bless America!

I am a past post office employee so yes I have had the good life of a union to represent me but it wasn't by choice, it was forced and if I threw the letters faster than they thought that I should they would walk by me and tell me to SLOW down because I was making them look bad! I didn't care I worked the mail for the people of my town NOT for the union thugs that was taking my money!!!! I retired from this job after 20 years but I always gave 110% to my job not 50% like the union asked me to. After this job I went on to get my teaching degree and again I was forced to join a union, this union makes you join it to get there insurance. The unions are a thing of the past and have served there purpose!!

My Grandfather helped form some of the Unions that exist today. He believed that everyone had a right to work under acceptable conditions and hours, He also felt that you should do a better job because you are a union member, and be proud of the work you do. Also be grateful because you are blessed, and support your Country and State Government. The behavior, by both the runaway state representatives and demonstators that I have seen is not the Unions that made this country great. I wouldn't want any of them teaching my children in school.
Everyone knows that we have to STOP the downward spiral of our dollar by drastic cuts in the current budgets. The wiser and more patriotic thing to have done before making such a huge mess, would have been to give up collective bargaining for a couple of years until the budgets were back on track.
