Reince Priebus on Why Sanders Staying In Until July Hurts Clinton and Helps Trump & The GOP

“It makes it very difficult because she has to focus on the primary… at some point it hurts you when your candidates are picking on each other all day. Now focusing on Hillary is going to be easier. We are at an advantage when the other side is incapable of raising the right amount of money and putting bodies in states that aren’t subject to a primary… What’s changed is the RNC is the one that put all the bodies and we still have them in battleground states and have the data but Hillary is bleeding on money because she has to do something she didn’t expect, which is to battle Bernie Sanders and spend millions of dollars in New York and Indiana and out West, they can’t put as many bodies as they want to in Ohio or Florida so that’s the other backstory that you suffer from in this elongated primary that the democrats are going through.”

–RNC Chairman Reince Priebus on the advantages the GOP has over the Democrats now that Donald Trump is the presumptive nominee and Sanders is vowing to stay in the race

RNC Chairman, Reince Priebus, in a radio exclusive, called into Kilmeade & Friends to discuss Donald Trump being the presumptive nominee after Ted Cruz and John Kasich dropped out, giving the Republican party time to heal after a contentious primary season, if he thinks former President’s Bush 41 & 43 will come around after saying they will not endorse Trump for president, Trump pivoting his focus to the general election and why Bernie Sanders staying in the race helps Trump and hurts Hillary.

Listen here:

Reince on former Presidents Bush 41 & 43 saying they will not be endorsing Donald Trump for president.

(KILMEADE) Will you call them?

(PRIEBUS) Sure, we’ll talk to them. We have a relationship. Obviously Bush 41 was the former Chairman of the RNC and Bush 43 has been very supportive and helpful to me, I look up to him and respect to him and certainly I will talk to him. Again, I think time is very important, it’s very new and I think over time I believe things will certainly heal.
