Maybe he asked that Saudi prince that paid his college tuition if he'd send him some campaign dollars and the prince said "NO"!

Bob, the answer is simple. His teleprompter got altitude sickness

It never occurred to me that there was another explaination….I just thought that he was a criminal who illegally ran for office on a completely faked background and who belongs in jail.

Wow! Looks like non-fiction isn't the only thing Woodward is good at. This fiction piece is a real prize winner!

I will tell you what distracted the "precious leader", no teleprompter, no protective media and FACTS!!!!! He is an empty chair, and not even a comfortable one!!!

What happend is that the battery in his ear- implant- communication device ran low and he lost direct communcation to George Soros.

The debate ? A settling 'drug' is the most likely answer.

I think he knew without a script and a teleprompter he had no place to hide and when he looked in the mirror before the debate to check the makeup and have his last stewart smally moment before walking on stage he saw his reflection as….. EEKKK!! Jimmy Carter!
Would rattle anyone!

Somethings distracted him alright.
Truth, logic, reason, and real American hope.

What distracted Obama was the truth … he hasn't seen it in a very long time, and it startled him.

Obama is nothing more than a preacher. . and Woodward a pathetic apologist.

Distracted?? That look is called "dazed and confused" not distracted. That is like saying that Muhammad Ali looked "distracted" when Joe Frazier put him on the mat.

If a "personal issue" so distracted him that he was unable to perform in the debate, doesn't that raise serious concerns about his ability to make the types of decisions he must make as President?

Distracted? Most people would be distracted by that type of beatdown. Obama had no idea how to handle being stood up to and having his record used against him for the first time in almost four years. No one in the White House or in his campaign will dare challenge him. Anyone who wants to be successful must hear constructive criticism in order to learn and shape their decisions. Obama hasn't had to hear anything other than "Yes, sir!" and "Whatever you say, sir!" since being elected.

Please stop making exuses. This pres had 4 years to prove himself and all he as ever done is blame someone else. He has run out of people to blame. He is just an empty chair!!!!!!!!!

The Limbaugh fans are out if force, I see. My theory on the debate is that Obama set Romney up – give him enough rope to hang himself then hit him with a sledge hammer later.

Perhaps he is just not as great as you all heralded him to be? From here in the UK he does seem to have amounted to much.

Well, if Woodward is correct and the President was "distracted" by something else going on……. I'm sorry but I expect the President to be able to deal with anything that happens and still continue to be at the top of his game…. he's the President for heavens sake…. not any where near enough of an excuse.

Why does Obama fail to mention that Mitt wants to cut the Federal Government and the enormous number of jobs that will cost. We know Mitt likes to fire people. Here it would be on a very large scale. Somehow he never asks that question, "what jobs are we going to give all those ex government employees?

Let's not rush to judgement on the "deprivation of oxygen" theory, perhaps he had a smoke prior to taking the podium; that nasty nicotine habit is a hard one to shake.

Al Gore's comment was silly but the debate was in Denver not Las Vegas.

Almost as good as Gore blaming it on the altitude in Denver!

Really?
Give me a break, some people are out of work and HUNGRY and the big gripe is a debate for the Presidency of the United States is held on a inconvenient date?
That is such a elitist attitude.
It is a PRIVILEDGE to serve, at least that is what the men and women who actually lay down their very lives think.
