In a midterm election that is rallying Democrats across the nation, the bitterly fought battle for control of the Senate may be President Donald Trump's best hope for a bright spot when voters head to the polls. After months of Trump rallies and millions raised and spent, the fundamentals have not changed: Democrats are counting on a fired-up base still seething over the 2016 election to push their candidates over the edge. Republicans note that Democrats are playing defense, with 10 incumbents fighting to survive in states Trump won big.

Wrong on BOTH sides! Another Republican lawmaker was confronted by angry protesters, with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) being targeted at a restaurant. McConnell and his wife, Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, were dining at Havana Rumba in Louisville Friday night when a man began screaming at him.  The incident came after protesters yelled expletives at House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) at a campaign event near Miami.

What Really Happened? A man appearing to wear Jamal Khashoggi's clothes left the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul following his killing there, according to a surveillance video, while a member of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's entourage made four calls to the royal's office around the same time, reports said Monday. General Jack Keane gives the latest.
