Fox News announced today a limited special midterm election series hosted by The Daily Wire's Ben Shapiro.

The Ben Shapiro Election Special will air Sundays and feature Shapiro and a panel discussing how the big news of the week may end up impacting the 2018 midterm elections.

Guy Benson sat down with Ben to talk about his new series as well as the big news of the day!

On The New Show: We are going to be looking at how exactly the news impacts the 2018 election. Really excited about it. Obviously it's a really hot election cycle and a lot of big headlines emerging. It's certainly a good time to be in the news and commentary game. (:25)

On Rod Rosenstein Allegation in the NY Times: I find it utterly unsurprising that there was gossip about President Trump from career staffers in the DOJ. That doesn't surprise me at all. These are folks who crossed administrations they have been there before and will be there again. I don't know if it's a joke or not. NBC news now reporting that a source in the room says it was a joke so who the heck knows, but this is timed to set off the President as well. I don't think its necessarily the NY Times intent, but we know Trump will be tweeting about this within the hour. We all just wait for the other show to drop there. (1:45)

On Kavanaugh accusations/New Hearing: so many holes in this story that essentially what we have is Democrats on the one hand saying an allegation is tantamount to the truth and on the other hand the Republicans saying well an allegation is an allegation, but we need to actually hear some supporting details about the allegation and we need to hear Kavanaugh's response. I think as it stands you have to give odds to Kavanaugh being confirmed. With that said where it goes next is largely dependent on whether this woman comes forward and testifies. (4:53)

On Accuser Christine Ford wanting to go second: Utterly insane. Utterly and completely insane. The idea anybody that anybody would sign off on a process that involves a defendant responding to charges that have not yet been made? This is Stalinist nonsense. No way it goes forward on these conditions.(6:23)

On Senator Kirsten Gillibrand saying "A Man Who Doesn't Want An FBI Investigation Probably Isn't Innocent": This is full on McCarthyism. Who in their right mind would do this? I accuse Kirsten Gillibrand of slaughtering puppies in her backyard for fun, If she doesn't call for an FBI investigation into that charge obviously that means she is guilty. I made an accusation and she is not fighting it. She says she didn't do it, but how am I supposed to believe that. (9:00)
