During a recent show, Todd Starnes discussed Brig. Gen. Teichert, Commander, 412th Test Wing, Edwards Air Force Base, who is facing a threat from the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, which advocates for separation of church and state in the military. The organization accusing the General of operating an online ministry that promotes his particular brand of Evangelical Christianity to base troops, contractors and civilians which they say is in violation of Air Force and Defense Department rules about religious proselytizing. Mikey Weinstein, the group's founder, has sent a formal letter of complaint to Defense Secretary James Mattis.
"The Military Religious Freedom Foundation believes that General Teichert should be removed from command and thrown in jail because of his religious beliefs. This is unbelievable. This is one of the moments that this radio program was created for. We've got to take a stand, we've got to stand alongside General Teichert here. We've got to encourage the Trump administration to ignore this guy, Mikey Weinstein, and ignore the Military Religious Freedom Foundation. It is offensive that people like Mikey Weinstein were given a platform during the Obama administration," Starnes said on the show.
