President Trump is ramping up pressure on Turkey's President to release imprisoned Presbyterian minister Andrew Brunson, who's facing terrorism and espionage charges. The North Carolina native, was arrested in October 2016 in Izmir where he served as pastor. If convicted, he faces up to 35 years in prison. President Trump calling Brunson's detention "a total disgrace".
Todd Starnes spoke to Tony Perkins, President of the Family Research Council, about his hopes for Pastor Brunson's release.
"When such a fundamental freedom, such as freedom of religion, is trampled upon, that the idea that you could do business with Turkey with some level of confidence, you're just deceived. I'm hopeful that well see a resolution soon and Pastor Brunson will be released," Perkins said.
