Attorneys for First Liberty Institute  filed a petition with the Supreme Court of the United States on behalf of former high school football coach Joe Kennedy, asking the nine Justices to reverse a lower court decision that allowed a school district to fire him because fans and students could see him take a knee in silent prayer after football games.
Todd Starnes spoke to Michael Berry, Deputy General Counsel for First Liberty, about why the Supreme Court should hear Kennedy's case.
"We're hopeful that the court will take up this case, because it is an important case that really has the potential to define in this country whether public school employees, such as coaches and teachers and people like that, are going to lose their First Amendment rights just by virtue of being a public school employee," Berry said.
