Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott Handed Six-Game Suspension

The Cowboys could be without their star running back for the first six games of the season.

FOX's Jared Max reports:

Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl running back Ezekiel Elliott suspended for six games of the upcoming NFL season for violating the league's personal conduct policy.

While the Columbus City attorney's office in Ohio decided against criminal charges for Elliot because of alleged domestic abuse of an ex-girlfriend in July 2016. The NFL told ESPN it thoroughly investigated the allegations, examined text messages, even retained medical and legal experts to assist Commissioner Roger Goodell in rendering a decision.  

Elliot will reportedly appeal the suspension. Stands to forfeit a reported $559,000-plus in salary and repayment of $1.44 million from a signing bonus.
