Alexandra Vacroux of the Davis Center for Russia Studies at Harvard discussed the state of U.S. Russia relations during the waning days of the Obama administration. Contacts between U.S. and Russia militaries had been reduced to near zero, and other official contacts were curtailed as punishments for Russia's annexation of Crimea.

So the question is whether Trump associates contacts with Russians during the transition were legitimate or not.
