Monday on "The Alan Colmes Show," Alan spoke with 2016 Green Party candidate for President Dr. Jill Stein, who has been leading the effort for recounts in three states she feels have a pattern of irregular voting. Dr. Stein told Alan what she thinks about President-Elect Trump calling her effort a "scam," why she's not calling for a recount as a favor to either Trump or Hillary Clinton, and why she thinks the recount won't change the final result of the election:
COLMES: The President-Elect says "This recount is just a way for Jill Stein, who received less than one percent of the vote overall, and wasn't even on the ballot in many states, to fill her coffers with money, most of which she will never even spend on this ridiculous recount.
DR. STEIN: Once again, Donald is making things up, and he will soon discover when you are a president, you just can't create your own facts. You know you can have opinions, but you can't create your own facts.
COLMES: And he called it a scam as you well know.
DR. STEIN: Well, I'm honored. Alan, this is not about him and this is not about Hillary. The three states that we chose including Michigan that only just now declared its winner. This was not a partisan choice, this was zooming in on the states that have the markings of being most vulnerable to hacking because they had thin margins. They went the opposite way of what was expected and they had some kind of voting system vulnerability.
COLMES: You don't anticipate a different outcome, do you?
DR. STEIN: No I don't, but I think this is a really important thing to do so that we can being to really make the changes in our voting system that we urgently need because how can we trust anything else about our democracy, because people come out of this election so beat up and so discouraged and so cynical.
