Gov Rick Scott And Other Florida Republicans Fight To Keep Cohabitation Illegal

Living together in Florida without benefit of clergy is punishable by a $500 fine or up to six days in jail.  State Rep. Ritch Workman of Melbourne wants to have the law repealed, but is being met with opposition from his fellow Republicans and the governor. Rep. Dennis Baxley of Ocala, for example, says, "I'm not ready to give up on monogamy and a cultural statement that marriage still matters."
