The House... taking a look - at whether or not to raise the Nation's Debt Ceiling.

How will it go?

"Every Republican is expected to vote against this thing, along with some Democrats - the remnants of the Blue Dog Party - or Blue Dog Delegation. So it's setting themselves up - quite frankly - for what's going to happen in 2012 when the economy is pretty much going to be the big campaign issue."

Republicans argue that raising the ceiling without also making cuts to the federal budget would be irresponsible...

John Stanton - a Staff Writer with Roll Call - agreed with Starnes... when he spoke with Trey at 92 .5Fox News in Fort Myers FL...

Trey wanted to know - what sort of increase are we looking at?

"No one is quite sure what the total number on the debt limit increase will be. It will depend on how long they are going to go for. Whether or not Republicans are willing - or Democrats for that matter - are willing to go 2 or 3 years out to get this beyond the election..."

...the US Government hit its 14.3 trillion dollar debt limit on May16th...

The Obama administration AND several economists have warned - Congress MUST raise the debt limit by August 2nd to avoid economic catastrophe.

In the mean time - since hitting the debt limit - in May - the Treasury department - implementing what they call "extraordinary" measures to keep the United States from defaulting on its loans.

We'll have to keep an eye on this one... to see how long the stand-off lasts...
