Today, we "Twopp" across the country, exploring Twitter's trends in cities around the nation.

First up, it's foodies delight...Five Guys is trending from Memphis to New York to L.A. as part of a Serious Eats survey that pitted the chain against Shake Shack and In-N-Out Burger to see who has the best burger.  Five Guys fans...sorry, you lost.  Shake Shack takes the win, trending in New York - and even briefly nationally - and enjoying the support of @clairedunphy09...

Next up...politics is taking center stage.  Newt Gingrich probably wishes he wasn't trending in San Diego and Denver, as most people are sharing Tuesday night's glitter bomb the former House Speaker took in Minneapolis... It doesn't help that a statement from his spokesman is now going viral, as well.  Rick Tyler's release refers to media coverage over the past week, saying things including "The literati sent the minions out to do their bidding," and "A lesser person could not have survived the first few minutes of the onslaught. But out of the billowing smoke and dust of tweets and trivia emerged Gingrich."  That's led some in the Twitterverse to compare Tyler to Charlie Sheen, such as @biznacho...

Finally, we have the wonderful world of technology...  Want to trend in major cities all around the country? There's an app for that.  Apple is taking over Twitter trends.  The iPhone is trending in cities like Providence, San Diego and San Francisco.  The iPad is trending in New York, Jackson, Mississippi, and San Francisco.  And if San Fran isn't Apple-d out enough, Mac is trending there, as well.  The tweets are random, like those from @drbforsyth...

and @JasonMJRyder...

Of course, a couple of celebrity tweets, help.  Comedian Jim Gaffigan...

and Ellen DeGeneres...

...are giving Apple an extra boost.  As if it really needed it.
