It's been a year since the explosion on the Deepwater Horizon oil rig.

Eleven rig workers were killed.

Billed as the worst environmental disaster in the nation's history.

"It's been a long struggle - for the tens of thousands of people in Louisiana and along the gulf coast for that matter - in the fishing, oil and tourism industries."

The rig - spewed millions of barrels worth of oil into the gulf.

And the oil continues to wreak havoc...

"Is it fair to say that what happened last year is not a fair assessment of that industry?"

....Forrest Goodman - of WREC in Memphis Tennessee.

"Yeah absolutely - even the Presidents own oil spill commission report - suggested that several times that this wasn't a systemic flaw - but an isolated incident - and make sure that we learn from it and make sure that they act in a safe manner - but certainly - you know this is not something that is not a systemic problem of on-shore or offshore drilling."

That was Nick Loris an Environmental and Regulation Expert at the Heritage Foundation.

Buzzing right along...

The FAA - making news - yet again!

Well not them - but another one of their Air Traffic Controllers...

This time - for watching a movie when he was supposed to be monitoring aircraft!

Why are we seeing all these problems with Air Traffic Controllers, lately?

The answer -- the FAA - is quickly losing its veteran Air Traffic Controllers to retirement...

"And the experience level is quickly turning into a rookie game."

That was Paul Fagras - a Former Air Traffic Supervisor and Air Traffic Consultant.

" ...You know - unfortunately I see more of these events in the future and i think we're starting to see the first of the manifestation of this lack of experience."

So how did the guy get busted?

Apparently the Controller's microphone was left inadvertently activated -- transmitting the movie's soundtrack for more than three minutes... To all the planes in the airspace!

The movie - the 2007 crime thriller - "Cleaner" - starring Samuel L. Jackson...
