HITTING THE BRAKES on foreclosures -- The banking system - overwhelmed - is once again asking for Washington's help.
"If you can't do the basic job of being a bank - you shouldn't be a bank - and you should go into some other line of business - maybe fast food or something that's a little less complicated."
That was Nicole Gelinas - author of "After the Fall: Surviving Capitalism from Wall Street and Washington - speaking with Mike Miller at affiliate WIMA.
Bank of America Friday - becoming the first bank to stop taking back tens of thousands of foreclosed homes in all 50 states.
This is a huge move - part of a growing concern - that mortgage lenders may have been evicting homeowners using flawed court papers.

With Midterm Elections just weeks away.... It's possible we'll see an even 50-50 split between Republicans and Democrats in the Senate.
Could that happen?
"Well, I guess it's possible. Most people are thinking that the republicans will fall a few seats short of taking control of the Senate. But if the republicans do "run the table" that is - win everything that is within even remote chance of reaching on November 2 - they could come up with 50 seats - which would split the Senate right down the middle -- Something we've seen before - and it really creates quite a lot of havoc - being that closely divided."
