The radio buzz... the top talk radio stories of the day...

So much for "majority rules..." Prop 8... OVERTURNED.

A Federal Judge in California overruling voter-approved proposition 8 - the state wide ban on gay marriage.

"Judge Walker has delayed implementation of his own ruling - pending the appeals that he knows are coming. So you still cannot get married if you're gay in California."

That was Former Prosecutor Robin Bond - speaking with KTLK in Minneapolis.

In the 138 page ruling - the Judge found there was no rational basis to discriminate against someone based on their sexual orientation, ultimately violating their constitutional rights.

Opponents of the decision are up in arms - calling the ruling legally and morally wrong.

According to Family Law Attorney Anne Wynne:

"The Judge addressed that by saying you may not agree with - morally - with some actions that other people might take - but you can't take the right away to take those actions based on moral grounds.

That was Wynne speaking with KFTK in St. Louis.

We'll watch this case climb the legal ladder as now the appeal process begins - and see if it lands in the lap of the Supreme Court.

...buzzing on:

The leak is stopped.

The Obama administration now contemplating lifting its moratorium on deepwater drilling.

Is it too early?

"No - and unfortunately even though they're talking about lifting it earlier - there's already been some backtracking - and frankly - even if they lift the moratorium tomorrow - we're under a defacto moratorium. "

That was Tom Pyle, President of the Institute for Energy Research speaking  with Lana and JP in Houston at KTRH.

According to Pyle - we need to pay close attention to the IMPACT of these decisions - and NOT focus on the rhetoric that's coming out of the White House.
