Nicolas Cage heads up this week's FOXLight DVD release roundup with the only major new movie release of the week, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, a kinda/sorta remake with Cage taking over for Harvey Keitel and bringing along a whole different set of neuroses for Eva Mendes and Val Kilmer to play off.

The lack of new stuff means I'll highlight some older films new to Blu-ray this week...

Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy brings the Theatrical Editions of the franchise to high def.

The Natural (Director's Cut) adds some minutes to the 1984 Robert Redford hit, making it better than "the best there was".

1991's Flight of the Intruder has lots of aerial acrobatics perfect for an ultimate high def experience.

Also out this week...

Sharpe's Peril, the latest entry in the continuing BBC-TV franchise, which combines British war history with James Bond-like heroics in a David Lean-like epic production.  Sean Bean is Colonel Sharpe, this time battling a 19th Century Indian warlord. It's production values belie the fact it was shot for TV.

Finally, TV on DVD this week includes...

80's Brotherly actioner Simon and Simon: Season 4

90's law dramedy, and occasionally musical Ally McBeal: The Complete 2nd Season

The one season and out The Unusuals: The Complete Series

Sci-Fi's smash reboot Battlestar Galactica: Season 2 and The Complete Series, both on Blu-ray

And reality hits Mythbusters: Collection 5; and Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami: Season 1
