Twoppics, the stories behind the hottest topics on Twitter.
On Sunday, actress Britney Murphy's sudden death shocked the entertainment industry. Murphy, who starred in movies like Clueless and 8 Mile, was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital in Los Angeles after going into full cardiac arrest at her home. TMZ has reported that Murphy was very ill in the hours before her death and that she was taking prescription medication. An official cause of death could take weeks to find out, but the coroner said she appeared to die of natural causes. RIP Brittany Murphy is the sad hot twoppic of the moment.
Your hot twoppic of the day is Avatar, James Cameron's sci-fil film that had a HUGE opening weekend. It earned $232 million worldwide and it set some records: it's the biggest 3-D release of all time, and the biggest original content opening weekend ever, meaning, it's not a sequel or a part of a franchise. Avatar is on track to be one of the highest earning films of all time.
Hot twoppic of the week is the band Rage Against the Machine. Over the weekend, the Los Angeles rock band celebrated a huge feat: it's song "Killing in the Name" became the best-selling single in Britain for the week leading up to Christmas. That's after a Facebook group was created to rally people across the U.K. to buy online copies of the song.
