Twoppics, the stories behind the hottest topics on twitter.

What's hot this very minute?

Autumn. Twitter is buzzing about September 22nd, the official first day of Fall.

The hot twoppic of the day is an interesting way to get more twitter followers. Circle K, is an Indonesian convenience store chain and is a trending topic on twitter. The chain store name keeps being retweeted because an Indonesian filmmaker @jokoanwar tweeted If I got my 3000th follower today, I'll go into a Circle K naked. Since the tweet, Anwar has reached over 9,000 followers. Keeping his word, he and his friends are real time tweeting a play by play of his trip to Circle K without any clothing.

The hot twoppic of the week is Atlanta. After days of rain, flooding continues across the southeast, especially in Georgia. Many have been forced from their homes due to the floodwaters that have claimed 8 lives so far. Hundreds of roads and bridges are underwater.

Now, time for some Twitter 101. Today's subject? Direct messages. Direct messages are private messages sent from one Twitter person to another.  You can only send a direct message to a person who follows you.  It is the only way  on Twitter to send  a private message that only you and the recipient can view. Your direct message inbox is in the sidebar on your home page.
