Twoppics, the stories behind the hottest topics on twitter.
What's hot this very minute?
Former President, Jimmy Carter. We all heard Congressman Joe Wilson's shocking outburst during President Obama's address to Congress. Now, Jimmy Carter is under fire for saying Wilson's outburst was "based on racism" and attributed racist motives to some opponents of President Obama's health care plan. Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele says President Carter doesn't know what he's talking about. Twitter was chirping with tweets from both sides.
@ durmans tweets Wow. Now I'm a racist for disagreeing with a man's politics if he happens to be black.
@CrazyMechanic tweets Jimmy Carter, thanks for speaking out the truth. True Christian ppl are behind you...Gob bless you!
Your hot twoppic of the day is HappyBirthdayNick. Nick Jonas of the #Jonas brothers turns 17 today.
Your hot twoppic of the week? Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, who unveiled an $856 billion health care reform plan Wednesday. The plan requires Americans to have health insurance or face fines. Low income workers will be offered tax credit to help buy coverage. Noticeably absent from the plan is a government run public health care option. Tweets of disappointment dominated twitter:
@whitmc tweets Baucus is bogus! You can't require people to buy coverage, and offer no public option! That requires people to give $$ to private companies.
